1. Long ago, God's people had been scattered far,
But God sent prophets to proclaim
That His people would gather once again with joy,
and together would praise His holy name.

2. Then the Angel Gabriel told Mary what
God had decided should be done :

when Mary and Joseph sought a bed,
so her new-born Baby in a manger lay,
in the place where the animals were fed.
