St. Augustine's church

Regular events

What we usually do through the year at St. Augustine's church.

As well as our regular services, we have a number of special events which we usually celebrate each year. This does not prevent us from doing yet more things if we so wish !

St. Augustine's is part of Holy Trinity parish, so takes part in all the parish activities; we haven't tried to include all the parish activities in this list. See the Holy Trinity pages for details of the parish activities.

Garden partyJanuaryA relaxed afternoon in someone's garden, with tea, cakes, and undemanding ( not compulsory ) activities. Croquet has recently been popular.
Patronal celebrationMaySt. Augustine is remembered on May 26; on a Sunday close to that date we have a special service of thanksgiving.
Christmas windowsIn time for Christmas servicesNot strictly a formal activity, but the windows go up every year. We're rather pleased with them !
Carol service, and barbecueDecemberCarols, and a story, and ( afterwards ! ) a barbecue. BYO !
Christingle serviceChristmas EveA very popular service; the Christingle reminds us of God's bounty to us, and particularly of the gift of His Son.
