These are notes and comments on some of the items which appear in the Family Service item script. The comments are typically related to features of the service which are specific to our church or the time of the service, or which for some other reason we think might require alteration for another setting.

BEFORE THE SERVICE -
Furniture :
  • Stretcher bed with covers set up between lectern and altar, on the top step;
  • Chair next to bed;
  • Chair by lectern for messenger.
People :
  • Daughter lies on stretcher bed between lectern and altar;
  • mother sits next to her;
  • messenger sits behind lectern.
  • All other actors ready at the back.

STRETCHER BED We used a camp bed. Anything on which an invalid could plausibly lie would do.
